1888 Chromolithograph Medieval Costume Saint-Savin Abbey Poitou 11th LCH2 XEO5 "Le Pape Pie VII TenantThis is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which depicts scenes from the vaults of Saint Savin Abbey in Poitou, including some from the Old Testament and the martyrdom of Saint Savin and Saint Cyprian. Tunics were the most common form of apparel, paired with thick stockings. Members of the church wore longer robes, reaching their ankles or feet. Amices became popular among the clergy and other religious figures, and simple cloaks and capes
